A journey with Dystonia??

This journey started November 5, 2007.  That day was a day filled with joy as my daughter R entered the world.  She is a beautiful gift from God.  At that time we had no idea that just over 3 years later we would be trying to figure out what was causing our daughter to spill from her “big girl” cup after graduating from the sippy cup and also to drag her foot while running.

R was and is a very healthy girl.  We started noticing her spilling her drinks at the table now and then.  We thought she was just making a mess at the table.  Her right arm would jerk when she tried holding onto things.  This was in the spring of 2011.

During the summer of 2011 we started noticing her dragging her left foot. The first few times I thought it was just because she was wearing flip flops.  What child does not have a hard time walking, especially running with flip flops. But it didn’t seem to make a difference if she was wearing tennis shoes or even bare foot, she would drag her left foot.  When we described this to people they didn’t seem to understand… until they saw her.  I decided to take a video of her so that others could see what we were talking about…

I will try to post the video to document what this looked like.
